Deckbuilding
In a standard game each player uses a deck of at least 50 cards plus one Catalyst. There is no maximum, but decks usually play best with 50 to 60 cards. During play, your deck is called your Vault.
The rules
- At least 50 cards, plus exactly one Catalyst chosen before the game. The Catalyst does not count toward the 50.
- Up to 3 copies of any card with the same name.
- Mix cards from any number of factions: there are no faction restrictions.
- Higher rarities have extra limits (below). Your Catalyst counts toward them by its own rarity.
Rarity limits
Rarity · Copies per card · Total in the deck
Common · Up to 3 · No limit
Rare · Up to 3 · No limit
Legend · Up to 3 · No limit
Mythic · Up to 3 · Up to 6 Mythic cards
Ultra · Only 1 · Up to 3 Ultra cards
Prime cards
You may control only one copy of a Prime card with the same name at a time. If you would control a second, the new one is Archived instead.
A starting point
As a guide, about 30% of a deck is Forges (around 15 in a 50-card deck). This is a starting point, not a rule: the right number depends on how much your cards cost and how well your deck gains resources.
